FAQs (Frequently Ask Questions)
Yes! The current exam version is available until May 31, 2025. On April 1, 2025, new questions will be added to the existing content.
Candidates who have already dedicated significant study time in the past 12 months or are planning a retake are encouraged to take the exam before May 31, 2025. This allows you to leverage your existing knowledge before the content changes.
Candidates who are confident in their ability to learn quickly are also encouraged to take the exam before May 31, 2025.
Candidates new to the industry and with minimal knowledge of the CMP domains are advised to wait for the release of the new Omnipear 2.0 course. This updated course will cover the revised exam content.
Events Industry Council (EIC): The CMP Knowledge Training offers 25 CEUs for completion of the course, meeting the minimum requirement for the CMP examination. We save you time and money - as the course includes your learning and prep work. "OMNIPEAR has been approved by the Events Industry Council (EIC) as a Preferred Provider.
The CMP exam content will change effective as of August 1, 2025. “We understand that the new CMP exam content will include the majority of topics and questions from the 2024 CMP Exam content, however, new questions be added -- aligning to the new 2025 CMP International Standards” - Sir Dion Magee

Before the final updated exam is live, EIC will be Beta testing it from 1 April through 31 May 2025.

Updated Exam Timeline
- 1 January - 31 March: Current CMP Exam Testing
- 1 April - 31 May 2025: Beta Updated CMP Exam Testing
- 1 June -31 July 2025: Blackout Period
- 1 August 2025: Launch of Updated CMP Exam

Scheduling Options
Candidates currently scheduling their exam have three options.
Option One
Schedule and complete the existing CMP Exam before 31 March 2025.
OMNIPEAR: Complete the OmniPear Boot Camp 21-day or 90-day course option, submit your application, and submit the exam fee to be eligible. Be ready to pay your exam fee immediately. Return to the OmniPear course to continue learning and preparing for the CMP Exam.
Option Two
Apply to participate in the CMP Beta Exam being offered between 1 April and 31 May. If you would like to be considered for the Beta Exam group, you must complete both the Beta Exam Interest form and the initial CMP certification application by Friday, 7 March.
Participation in the Beta exam is critical to advancing our CMP Community and an opportunity to support the industry.
In appreciation for participating in the CMP Beta Exam, EIC is offering candidates a $425 USD discount on the exam fees, a complimentary copy of the EIC Manual ($99 USD value), and complimentary access to the Sustainable Event Professional Certificate programme ($495 USD value). This is a total combined value of more than $1,000 USD.

Option Three
Schedule to take the updated CMP Exam after the 1 August 2025 release.
OMNIPEAR: OmniPear will launch an updated 2.0 course to prepare for the new CMP exam. We would encourage you to wait until the new OmniPear 2.0 course is available. Yes, you decide on your schedule. We offer two course options. For a faster approach, the optimal choice is to enroll in the CMP Prep Fast-Track “Express" (21 Days).
A new OmniPear 2.0 CMP course is being developed to align with the updated CMP exam. This course will be based on the 10th edition of the CMP Manual, expected to be released in mid-2025.
For students currently enrolled in a CMP course, options for enrolling in the separate 2.0 course will be available upon its release.

Yes, we will offer the course to you again at no cost, limited to 90 days. In addition, we will craft a study plan identifying the areas that you should focus on.
First, we will work to avoid this experience and don't give up! If you do fail, we will craft a revised study plan and add other strategies so you can pass the exam. You will have access the course for additional 90 days after your first failed attempt. We will schedule additional time to uncover some of your challenges and find ways to improve your study techniques and test-taking skills.
Yes. In general the CMP-HC is designed to recognise those in the healthcare meetings industry that demonstrate the mastery of specific regulations, laws and best practices that must be followed when conducting a healthcare-focused meeting.
You must hold the CMP designation to obtain the additional CMP-HC. At this time, we do not have a course specific for health-related professional topics, however our CMP standard course provides the proper curriculum as basis for the CMP-HC.
PMBOK Guide - Seventh Edition
According to the Project Management Institute (PMI), there are no plans at this time to update the PMBOK 8th edition.
